Privacy policy

No accounts, no cookies of our own, no analytics. Here is the full list of what is recorded when a page loads.

Access logs

The web server records each request as a row in a log: IP address, requested path, timestamp, user agent and response code. These rows are kept for a short interval to operate the site and to see which pages are used. Nothing in the log is joined to a visitor identity, because there is no visitor identity to join to.

Accounts and input

Rust Data has no accounts and no sign-in. You are not asked for a name or an email address to read any page. The only address we hold is our own, hello@rustdata.space, for messages you choose to send.

Cookies and local storage

The site sets no cookies of its own. The light or dark theme choice is stored in your browser's local storage and stays on your device. No analytics script and no advertising tracker runs on these pages; there is no profile of you to build, sell or share.

Cloudflare

Requests pass through Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the site. Cloudflare sees visitors' IP addresses and may set a security cookie of its own when it checks for bots. That cookie belongs to Cloudflare, not to Rust Data.

Fonts and third-party files

Fonts are served from this site. Country flags on the force wipe date page are fetched from jsDelivr, a public code and font host; that request passes your IP address and browser details to jsDelivr. No Google service is loaded here.

Server data

Fields shown for each server (name, player count, settings, description, images, wipe schedule) come from what those servers publish to the public server list and return to direct queries. Player counts are totals per server, not lists of individual players. The server list holds no information about who is on a server.

Questions

Does Rust Data use cookies or analytics?

No. The site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Your theme choice is kept in local storage in your browser, and a Cloudflare security cookie may appear if Cloudflare checks the request for bots.

What does Rust Data do with my IP address?

It appears in ordinary web server access logs, kept for a short interval to run the site and see which pages are used. Cloudflare also sees it while delivering the request. It is not used to build a profile or shared for advertising.

Does Rust Data store anything about individual Rust players?

No. Server fields such as player counts are totals taken from public server lists and direct queries to those servers. They describe servers, not the people playing on them.
