Terms of use

Using rustdata.space means accepting these terms. The data comes first; the conditions for it follow.

What the site is. Rust Data is an index of public Rust servers. Each row is a server; fields include player count, population history, wipe schedule and settings. The site reads from Steam's public server list and from servers directly, on a five-minute refresh interval.

Accuracy. Data is offered as it is. A server can report a wipe late, publish a misleading name, or return a player count that lags the real one. A row is a snapshot taken at the last refresh, not a guarantee. Check a server on /servers against what you see in game before you commit a wipe or a player base to it.

Browsing. Reading and comparing servers needs no account and no payment. Avoid rapid automated requests that slow the site for other visitors; if you need bulk figures, email hello@rustdata.space and we can discuss it.

Crawlers. Search engines, bots and AI crawlers are welcome. Read robots.txt and llms.txt first. Keep the fetch rate low enough that ordinary visitors still get fast pages.

Server owners. A server appears because it is on the public list. Every field on its page comes from what the server publishes. To change what the index shows, change it at the source; most edits appear within one refresh interval.

Independence. Rust Data has no connection with Facepunch Studios. Rust is a trademark of Facepunch Studios.

Changes. These terms may change without notice. The date below records the last change; continued use after that date means you accept the current version.

Questions

Can I use Rust Data server figures in my own project?

Browsing is free and needs no account. For bulk extracts, email hello@rustdata.space with what you need and how often. Automated crawlers should check robots.txt and llms.txt and keep their request rate polite.

Why does a server row show a different player count from in game?

Each row is a snapshot from the last refresh, and the interval is five minutes. A count can lag, and a server can report a wipe late. Treat the figure as the last sample, not the current state.

How does my server get listed, or edited?

A server appears if it is on Steam's public Rust server list and responds to queries. Its fields come from what the server itself publishes, so changes made there appear within one refresh interval. Rust Data does not edit server rows by request.
