Questions

What is Rust Data?

Rust Data is a live index of every public Rust server, built from Steam's public server list and direct queries to the servers. Each row carries current players, historical population, wipe schedule and settings. The index refreshes every five minutes.

Where do the figures come from and how current are they?

Player counts and queues come from Steam's public Rust server list, polled every five minutes, so no count is older than one interval. Settings such as map seed, gather rate and group limit are read by querying each server directly. A wipe appears in the data within about five minutes of the server reporting a new world.

Can I filter or search the servers myself?

Yes. Open the server list and filter by region, gather rate, group limit, wipe schedule or current population, then sort on any field. For a starting point, the top servers page ranks by population. Individual servers have their own page at /servers/ip:port.

Is Rust Data independent of Facepunch?

Yes. Rust Data is not run by Facepunch, any server network or any host. It works only from public data: Steam's list and the responses servers give to direct queries. Nothing on the site is estimated or editorialised; where a field is missing, it is because the server did not report it.
